A brand new state of the art theatre, the first of its kind in West Wales for over a quarter of a century has opened in Llanelli.

Ffwrnes is a £15-million development that has been funded by the European Regional Development Fund, the Welsh Government, Carmarthenshire County Council and Trinity St David University.

The main auditorium and old Zion school studio allows for a variable mix of theatre formats and audience configurations, with flexible flat floors.

The auditorium has two levels with retractable seating at ground floor and also houses a new dedicated orchestra pit. There is a flexible studio space with a sprung floor and appropriate technical facilities with flexible seating.

Café and bar facilities, wi-fi access and convenient parking add a finishing touch to the state of the art development.

Not only is the theatre being used for theatrical productions, but it is also being used for after school performing arts, workshops and community projects.

It is also being used by schools and colleges for their own productions and provides an ideal venue for work.
